"Friend"

Inspired by the suitcase that Vietnamese-Australian refugee Cuc Lam brought with her to Australia in 1978, this puppet play is a magical adventure from a world far away to Australia.

A little girl, Jade, has worked every day for as long as she could remember in a suitcase factory in a far away land. It’s a miserable, loud clanking place and Jade had a miserable, loud clanking life.

This is the story of how she escapes – across the sea and through the sky. This beautiful tale of following your heart to a better place is an antidote for children young and old.

* Premium Adult patrons will be given first choice of seating each performance night. As well as securing the best seats in the house, it gives you a chance to invest further in the development of the work you are seeing and allows the Old 505 Theatre to continue to be a vital incubation space for new work.
